biographiesBrenda is the founder and owner of Amore Styles. Raised in Houlton, Brenda left the County in 1985 to start her career in the hair care industry. With advanced training from Vidal Sassoon’s Academy of Hair in London and Jingles International of New York City, Brenda’s areas of expertise lie in color and cutting. Her philosophy of hair is simplicity works. Good color with a great cut means you will always look fabulous…no more bad hair days! A good stylist knows that when you return for your next visit, your hair should only be longer, not disproportionate. Brenda is also the only certified "Ouidad" stylist in Maine. Most of Brenda’s off work time is dedicated to her beloved canine companion, The Contessa and to volunteering. Although most business owner’s avoid involvement in controversy, Brenda, a life time civil rights activist has always felt that business is political and it is a responsibility of ownership to provide community leadership as well as be a leader of style. “It’s all about image!” says Kim Sullivan of Yarmouth. A former fashion model with roots on the West Coast, Kim brings a unique beauty perspective to Amore. With a specialty in hair color and product knowledge, Kim enjoys all aspects of her profession. Kim is trained in Goldwell, Redkin and Framesi color lines. She also has advanced education from Jingles International of New York, NY. The true loves of Kim’s life are her husband Chip and children Alexa and Liam. Robert A. Towle has over 25 years of experience and dedication in the beauty industry. Combining continuing education with his own unique style in hair cutting, color, and finish work. Robert is also very proud to produce the Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant and to head up Miss Maine’s preparation to compete in the Miss America Pageant. He has been the official stylist to Miss Maine since 1980 and has coiffed many of our Miss Americas. Robert is the founder of the Steven Jensen Memorial Scholarship, which provides a $500 educational scholarship annually to the Miss Maine contestant who best exemplifies the spirit of Miss America. With all of his experience, Robert has successfully coached many young women in the Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Mrs. America Pageant systems. With many years dedicated to such diverse organizations such as the People with AIDS Coalition of Maine, the Peabody House, the Maine Cancer Society, and the City Theater in Biddeford, to mention just a few, Robert still makes time for his love of travel, theatre and spending time with friends. His personal philosophy on hair care? Hair should compliment a person’s age, look and hair type, while being easy for each individual to maintain his or her own special look. |
